DON’T AND DO’S WHEN YOUR BABY HAS A FEVER
Why does the fever occur?
- Viral infections.
- Bacteria infection.
- Environmental factors- children who sit in daycare or daycare have a seven times more risk of infection.
Fever after vaccination, usually only for the first 24 hours.
The weather is too hot.
DO’S AND DONT’S WHEN YOUR CHILD HAS A FEVER.
DO’S:
Cover the child’s body excessively and assume that if the child is covered or wearing a sweater, the temperature will drop when the child sweats.
Take off your clothes or wear thin garments only. Info: When heat is trapped, the temperature is even higher, and the heat does not come out optimally.
Soak in cold water.
It is enough to take a bath or soak in plain tap water. Soak with water, especially in the armpits, forehead, and thigh folds. Info: blood capillaries shrink if washed in cold water, and the temperature does not drop optimally.
Cover the fan/air conditioner with a thick blanket.
Open the fan/air conditioner and put on thin clothes.
DONT’S
Not bathing your child ❌
Take a shower as often as possible with tap water. ✅
Not monitoring the child’s temperature. ❌
The child’s temperature should be monitored every 4 hours. ✅
Do not give fever medicine according to the dose recommended by the doctor. ❌
Follow the dosage recommended by the doctor. DO NOT OVERDOSE. ✅
